I finally have a blog! This is my place to discuss my job search, my stitching, my addiction to the internet and whatever else crosses my mind! So stay, read, stitch and chat with me :)

Vegas!

Vegas was wonderful. I had a great time, although I came home exhausted. And glad to see that LA is like 40 degrees cooler, lol.

We got there Thursday night and had dinner with some friends that live up there now. It's always great to see them. I got back to the hotel close to midnight and of course I had to make my way over to Margaret's to see who was around still. Margaret, Ann, Stasha and I stayed until about 2. I got back to my room and still couldn't go to sleep so I wandered down to the casino and did a bit of gambling. I was also delighted to see there was a Panda Express in the hotel, although I never did get around to eating there!

On Friday morning, I got down to breakfast, where I met Teresa, Allie and Sharon. We hung out in Margaret's room for a while and then decided to take a pre-shopping trip to the LNS. So Teresa, Allie, Margaret, Sharon, Debi and I took 2 cabs down to Stitcher's Paradise. The drivers were ummm...scary. Teresa did quite a bit of sliding around in the backseat, and from what I hear, so did the people in the other cab. Nancy very kindly offered to drive us home, so we all crowded into her car (that was NOT meant to hold 7 people!), and that was interesting too. There was definitely no sliding around in the backseat! In fact, Teresa dared her to try to make us slide, but she didn't, lol. After we got back, Allie and I decided to go to the mall for some lunch. I had a good time talking to her and getting to know her.

Friday night was show and tell, and everyone does such beautiful work! I appreciated the complements on my chessboard.

Saturday was the hardanger class with Julie Norton and the all important trip to the LNS. I didn't go to the class, so while the others were in class, I spent the hour in the stitcher's lounge with Teresa. Teresa is wonderful to talk to. She's interesting and funny and such a good sport. I had a great time with her, and that ranks among my favorite memories of the weekend.

My other favorite memory was finally getting to meet my dear friend Penny. We've been IMing for several years, and it was so much fun to finally get to see her! We spent a little time together on Friday night, and in the LNS on Saturday. On Saturday night, Debi went with us and we walked around part of the strip. The Bellagio fountain show is awesome. Debi knew where all the cool free stuff was, great tour guide ;) It took us several hours and we were exhausted when we got back at 1am, but it was worth it. I even got Penny to put a buck in the slot machine!

All in all, it was a blast, and I'm so glad I got to go. I didn't get a single stitch in all weekend though. Never do at these gtgs. I can't stitch and chat at the same time.

Show and tell counts as stitching.

So does fiber fondling. :)

It was good to meet you....
